Jannah Burj Al Sarab- True to to all they claim to be :)
Are you someone who loves to travel??? Yes? Good for you :D
Me? I lie somewhere in the middle of ‘love to travel’ and
‘lazy to travel’. My idea of a holiday is to be able to have fun, look whatever
way you want to look like, try new cuisines( although I swear by Indian food
;)), have a relaxed and stretched day where your itinerary doesn’t overpower
the sense of laziness you feel ;P, Oh ! and most important of all- with as
minimum travel as possible.
To make it a lot more obvious for you:
·
I would looove to go to
Paris, if they provided some solution to reach there in max-4 hrs,
·
Or if the airline is ready
to pamper me with goodie bags, that will keep me busy... I’ld love to go anywhere
in the world.
Ahhh my lovely imaginary bubble. Sigh! As you all have
already guessed, humanity has yet to create such a super speed time machine for
me to fly/crawl/swim in. And to add to my so called ‘ travel misery’, God
Almighty gifted me with a soulmate, who is the other side of the coin- he would
gladly sit at home and feel amazingly happy, with no qualms about putting on
his shoes and going out for a drive :D
Well, it’s a pretty even mix there. Don’t get me wrong, we
do love to go around town, go for movies etc etc, but as of now, with both of
us working and being dead tired, we prefer a simple solution.
With this beeeeeg intro, let me introduce you, to one such recent
favorite alternative of mine:
Jannah Burj Al Sarab...
The Building At Night
An amazing property in downtown AbuDhabi. They are a branch
of Jannah hotels and Resorts, who have one of their Resorts at the Eastern Mangroves,
AbuDhabi.
Me and my husband, like our privacy, and once in a year we
love to escape to some good hotel/ apartment to rewind, switch off our phones
and get some much needed, ‘US’ Time.
The first time we tried this(Since we don’t get enough time
to go on a planned holiday…someday we will :P), was when I got an amazing deal
from trivago.ae for an apartment. The experience was soo much Rejuvenating that
we kept going back to trivago to see if we can bag some deals. And there came
Jannah Burj AL Sarab- very very reasonably priced at AED 183 for a double
bedroom.(It originally rents for waaaay more than that).
Lets get into the details shall we?
The Reception
Since we already live in AbuDhabi, it was pretty easy to
find the place. The first thing I’ld like to mention, is their hospitality.
The smiling faces at the door and reception, the Karim who brings us the warm
towel and the welcome drink, all makes it a charming environment. The
check-in formalities are the usual-ID Proof/ Passport. It will be different for
people outside UAE, you can reach the hotel for details regarding that.
The very friendly Karim( guest assistant)
They will charge an additional 200 as a deposit (which they
will return on check out)in case you do have hunger pangs and decide to use the
room service/ the mini bar inside the room (oooooh the mini bar). Once you get
your room keys, you can park in the underground parking and go upto your room.
For some very useful reason, they have a full on smart
system managing all the electronics in the room: The lights, ventilation, and
the likes. Instead of switches you’ll find a touch panel: for your lights and
Cooling mechanism. The room is arranged so beautifully and spaciously, that you
wonder why we didn’t use these design tips at home ;)
The main door(excuse the camera clarity)
When you enter the room, you have sliding wardrobes on your
right, which also has a safe locker, if you have any valuables to keep. One
amazing thing I found here is how they had customized the rooms based on the
region. They had a musallah (prayer mat) and a Quran placed in the wardrobe as
well. You could also find, 2 bathrobes, room slippers, sewing kit, an iron
board and an iron box, all snugly and neatly fit in one part of the wardrobe.
To your left, is the washroom, neat, and the toiletries properly set. Unlike
other apartments, where they provide you with travel size soap, shower gel etc,
here they had a creative mechanism, where it’s a whole squeeze bottle, the kind
that we cannot remove: and it all smelled amazingggg. I think it was from the
brand, ‘Naturals’. Some hint of grapefruit was hanging around in the lotion,
shower gel, shampoo and the conditioner(I would have loved a travel size
version of this oneL).
The Glass Shower(Yay!)
The toiletries, all properly set. Squeeky Clean.
The wash area-is glass covered, with two showers-one
attached to the ceiling, other, removable and wall clad. A huge plus, is the
hot water availability throughout the day (I am the kind that freezes when
somebody switches on the AC, so this was a huge plus).
The bed, as all apartment beds, was cozy comfy, all white
and had a regal touch to how it was arranged. The 6 pillows in itself makes the
bed-so sleepable :D
This taken with amazing quality lens(downloaded from Google ;))
This taken from my cam which unfortunately doesnt give clarity at night. SIGH!
In addition to this, there is a work area, with a table and
chair, next to it is the beeeeeg TV, and a dressing table. The windows were
floor length, the curtains completely shutting out light by evening.
Coffee packets with milk, sweetener etc; and tea bags with
3-4 different flavours- All of which tasted amazing. We have this habit of
exploring what all there is in the room. Since we had already tried opening all
the drawers, we just let the one next to the work area, unexplored. I don’t
remember exactly why I opened it, lo and behold: the mini bar opened its way J It had sensors in the
mini bar, filled with different kinds of fizzy/ non fizzy drinks; chocolates,
nuts, baked chips. The good thing is, it wasn’t priced that high as well.
Reasonable- I told you so. They do charge an extra 16% on the items, but it
will not make a huuuuge difference.
The Awesome Minibar
We didn’t order room service since we did know all the
eateries nearby, and both of us love indian, so we opted for a hyderabadi
restaurant …the food was yummm.
Just so that we didn’t forget that a swimming pool existed
on the rooftop, we went to the top floor. It housed a gym, a café(hookah
included), a pool and a sauna-if I remember correctly.
The pool…the blue tiles making it look serene blue, dimly
lit seating area and an open roof. This is exactly what swimming under the moon
must feel like. Buut, it was closed for some reason, maybe there was a time
limit. Any which ways, the comfortability level was very high at Jannah Burj Al
Sarab.
To give you an overall rating:
- · Check in-check out: Smooth: 4.5/5
- · Hospitality: Amazing 5/5
- · Cleanliness:4.5/5
- · Sound free Area: Very Much
- · Reasonable: Very(for the deal that I got)
- · Recomment it?: For Sure.
You know how they provide a, ‘Rating Card’ for your stay. We
had filled and left our mail id’s on it. Surprisingly, their relationship
manager, emailed us back, thanking us for the stay :O : again-hospitality at
its best, people.
Please note, this review is just a result of the smile they
left on our face with their services, and is 100% my opinion. I was not paid to
give this review by any means. (Although Ild love to stay with them again ;))
Check them out: http://www.jannah.ae/hotels.php?id=3
to get a clearer idea on what they offer.
Also do check out: trivago.ae if you can bag any deals, if you are the lazy one like me ;)
Loads of love to the team at Burj Al Sarab <3
